Becoming a Member of Harmony Church

For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Romans 12:4-5

Three ways:

By profession of faith. When a person realizes their need for the saving grace of Christ they make a public profession of faith. At such time they could join the church as a new convert to Christ.
By reaffirmation of faith. This category is for those who may have been away from the church for some time. They have made their profession of faith and were a member of a Christian church in their past but have drifted away but who want to reaffirm their faith in Christ.
By certificate of transfer from another church. This category is for someone who is an active member of another church but who wishes to worship and serve at Harmony.

The following is the membership promise that persons make to join Harmony Church of Bartlett:

i accept jesus as my lord and savior

Jesus Christ will be my top priority. In all that I say and do, I will seek to emulate the Lord Jesus Christ, upon whom I will rely to keep the promises that I am making.

i promise to attend worship service

I will, as often as possible, take time to be in church in order to worship God with the members of my church home.

i promise to study my bible, pray and develop other christian disciplines

I will study my Bible, pray, serve others and develop other Christian disciplines and habits.

I promise to participate in the work of the great commission

I will tell my friends and family about the Lord Jesus Christ and the difference he has made in my life, and I will invite them to come and also be a part of Harmony.

i promise to participate in the life of harmony

I will actively discover and use my spiritual gifts to serve others as part of Harmony. I promise to respect the feelings and opinions of the other members of Harmony and not spread gossip or rumor.

i promise to develop caring relationships

I promise to show unconditional love toward the other members of Harmony. As one who is determined to show the love of God to other members, I will maintain moral purity toward its members, sacrificially attempt to meet legitimate needs of members, and demonstrate a life of faith, hope, and love toward others.

i promise to joyfully give to the work of christ

I will share the material wealth God has given me in the service of the Kingdom of God at Harmony.
